You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.

We treat our phones better than ourselves; we plug them in when the battery is low. But we run ourselves to empty and wonder why our performance suffers. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s strategic.
One thing you could do this week to reduce friction and increase flow:
- Individual’s Tip: Schedule 3 things that recharge you (walk, coffee with friend, reading). Put them in your calendar like important meetings. Don’t cancel them.
- Team Leader Tip: Share one way you recharge with your team. Ask them to share theirs. Encourage everyone to actually do their recharge activities this week.
- Executive Leader: Calculate the cost of burnout (sick days, turnover, mistakes). Compare to cost of wellness programs. Make the business case for self-care.
