Friction to Flow

Find The Opportunity For Change

Practical tips for peak performance without burnout

Create opportunity from chaos

In every crisis, there is opportunity.

Chinese Proverb

Crisis forces change that comfort resists. When things break, you get permission to rebuild better. The worst time can sometimes also be the best time, or at least not the very worst time, by looking for opportunities.

One thing you could do this week to reduce friction and increase flow:

  • Individual’s Tip: When something breaks, ask, “How can I build back better?” Then, instead of patching, look for what can be improved.
  • Team Leader Tip: Use your next crisis to test a new approach. Experiment when you have to change anyway.
  • Executive Leader: Build crisis protocols that strengthen the organization. Every emergency has the opportunity to leave you stronger.
