Time Isn’t the Currency—Energy Is

Think of energy like a phone battery.

Some tasks drain you to 20%, others actually charge you up.

Most people manage their calendar but ignore their energy levels – then wonder why they’re exhausted despite “having time” for everything.

The secret is matching high-energy tasks to high-energy times.

One thing you could do this week to reduce friction and increase flow:

  • Individual’s Tip: Notice what drains you vs. what energises you. After draining tasks, take a 5-minute walk or do 10 squats. See if it helps you bounce back faster.
  • Team Leader Tip: Start meetings by asking, “What’s everyone’s energy level, 1-10?” If it’s low, do 1 minute of stretches together or shorten the agenda.
  • Executive Leader: Find your 3 biggest energy-draining processes (long meetings? approval chains?). Kill one this week. Just stop doing it and see what happens.
