Organisations slow down where decisions pile up. Usually that’s wherever someone thinks they’re indispensable. The heroic leader who approves everything is actually the villain of scaling.

One thing you could do this week to reduce friction and increase flow:

  • Individual’s Tip: Notice where work piles up waiting for you. What could you delegate or eliminate? Be honest.
  • Team Leader Tip: Map where decisions get stuck. Push appropriate decisions down a level. Trust people to decide.
  • Executive Leader: Audit what only senior leaders can approve. Cut the list in half. Empower people closer to the work.
